What a marvellous, magical morning with our fave @actualbenmiller @cirenhistoryfest @coriniummuseum . The weather did not deter the book signing queue and the fancy dress comp was fab too. Happy Halloween and thank you to everyone that came ☺️🎃🕷️🕸️✨ ... See MoreSee Less

The Artist is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. A rich, sensory experience. Stunning.

Some books I’ve really loved of late-
‘Us’ by David Nicholls was very funny, sometimes sad and has some cracking characters I really cared about. A seemingly happy couple, one a scientist, one an artist, embark on a tour of Europe(the Grand Tour) with their teenage son. It could be the adventure they need or indeed a bittersweet goodbye to the life they once knew. ‘We All Live Here’ by Jojo Moyes was a lovely book. Again one of the funniest I’ve read in a long time but also very moving. Perfect for fans of the new Bridget Jones film. I was a bit jealous of the chaotic but clearly gorgeous Hampstead home. ‘Just a Little Dinner’ is a really elegant little read. A dinner party in a Parisian Apartment, one very hot summers evening, where its guest’s desires and downfalls, feelings and fears are so vividly portrayed with such accomplished writing. It is also a beautifully produced little book. I highly recommend all three. No fantasy, no history, not swamped in misery. Just really good books about people. #summerreads ... See MoreSee Less

Here are some of my favourite books so far this Spring-Tom Lake was so enjoyable. A warm and wonderful book. The Surf House, an exceptionally gripping, well written and atmospheric, sun drenched thriller and Hidden Treasure. A really brilliant magical mystery adventure for children, by the author of The Minaturist. @jessieburton @lucyclarke_author @parnassusbooks #hiddentreasure #tomlake #thesurfhouse #booksyoumustread ... Unbelievably appropriate. Congratulations, Octavia, yours is certainly one of the happiest places to be. Whenever I realise that one of my grandchildren has a birthday in the offing and I anticipate a visit to your treasure trove of delights, I feel the cares of the day-to-day drift away and a smile takes over my life. One of the books currently advertised in your amazing window could well be describing what your shop is all about. Hidden treasure indeed and utterly unique.
